We’ve had a real mix of trips recently but one of my all-time favourites is the Bradwell Chapel Walk. I’m looking forward to when Stanley can walk himself and I don’t have to carry him ‘all’ the way to and from the Chapel, which is currently back breaking and not as enjoyable as the previous gentle amble. I imagine when he can walk entirely independently, the walk may take us a lot longer than the usual round trip of 3 hours. Stanley will be wanting to stop and touch all the flowers and grasses and run off to collect shells from the beach. Between his exploring and my urge to take photos all the time, it’s a wonder we ever make it to any destination on time.
On our last Chapel walk trip the floral margined paths were in full bloom of vibrant flowers wavering in the gentle breeze and added another dimension to the already stunning walk. With some fantastic pubs and restaurants on the Bradwell shore, you are guaranteed to have a delicious meal waiting for you. I had the Swordfish salad just recently in the Marina Bar and it was heavenly. It’s a lovely trip to do even if you don’t end up walking to the Chapel. Sometimes I walk all the way to the Chapel with Stanley and other times I just walk a short while along the seawall to enjoy the sea views and then head down onto the beach for a paddle which Stanley really enjoys, even if he does try eating the sand and shells along the way! Once he’s worked up an appetite in the water, I lay out the blanket and we enjoy a little picnic in the sunshine before playing with and eating some more shells. It is a lovely relaxing trip.
